From Canvas to Code: Medina Kasimova’s Metaverse Debut + Live Webinar on Art in the Metaverse

What does it mean to preserve culture in a space that no longer physically exists? How do artists bring emotional depth and authenticity into digital form? These are the questions at the heart of From Canvas to Code, the debut metaverse exhibition by artist Medina Kasimova, launching July 24th in the FATVillage Metaverse, powered by IMX3.art.

The exhibition’s premiere will be celebrated during a live webinar co-hosted by .ART Domains and IMX3.art, titled:

Art in the Metaverse: New Frontiers of Exhibition and Preservation

New Kind of Exhibition

Medina’s work sits at the intersection of traditional painting and generative digital art. In From Canvas to Code, her static paintings are paired with dynamic “digital twins” — responsive generative works trained on her originals and guided by her own prompts. The result is a seamless blend of brushstroke and algorithm, emotion and interactivity.

“At the intersection of traditional art practice and immersive digital experience, Medina Kasimova’s artistic vision bridges the tactile and the algorithmic.” — .ART Registry

Developed in collaboration with IMX3 and Medina’s own studio, the exhibition reimagines what it means to create and connect with art in a decentralized, immersive space. And what better setting than the FATVillage Metaverse — a digital twin of the now-demolished FATVillage Arts District in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Meet the Artist

Official artist of the .ART Registry and the inspiration behind .ART’s Healing Power of Art Initiative, Medina Kasimova brings profound personal experience to her work. Having survived a near-death experience at birth, her practice is grounded in resilience and a deep connection with the human spirit. Her artworks often serve as poetic meditations on inner life, transformation, and survival.

“Her work is a beacon of hope, reminding us of the boundless potential within us all.” — .ART Registry

This metaverse debut marks a major new chapter for Medina as she extends her deeply personal and painterly practice into immersive digital territory.
