Perfect SEO Optimization for Websites: a Step-by-Step Instructions

SEO optimization helps you to enjoy a higher position in search engines compared to a poorly or incorrectly optimized page. Today, we’d like to lead you through a step-by-step guide of how you can implement SEO for the best website optimization. Follow our instructions and marvel at the results!

Website page optimization for search engines
SEO optimization of the web address or human-readable URL (CNC)

Ideally, the website address (URL) is written in Latin, containing keywords to promote the page. For example:

Bad: internet-marketings.art/12-12-2016 or internet-marketings.art/ how-to-optimize-your-site-page-correctly

Good: internet-marketings.art/ exact-keyword-occurrence

Including the keyword in the domain name will have a very good effect on the position of the website.

The right title
A properly written title plays a huge role since it is the first thing that the search engine sees when it evaluates the relevance of a page to the user’s query. Therefore, it’s advisable to include the main keyword in the title. Moreover, it should be located as close to the beginning of the title as possible.

Good: SEO optimization for improved search engine results

Staying within 55 characters is important, as that’s the only way the entire title will appear in the search engine results.

Catchy Description

The Meta Description tag should ideally contain a keyword that should be placed as close as possible to the very beginning. It should also be catchy, enticing the user to visit the website.

If, for example, the website sells products or services, the description may contain prices, delivery terms, phone numbers, warranties, or even a call to actionall of which will help raise the click-through rate.

Use the <H1> and <H2>-<H6>headers

The second thing that the search engine pays attention to when visiting the page is the words that are included in the title <H1>, which should also contain a keyword and, preferably, little to no ‘junk’ words.

Junk words are words that the website does not promote

The title should be succinct and include a keyword, just like this page itself. To structure the text on the pages, you need to use subheadings, which are enclosed in <H2>tags. Sometimes, the search engine automatically loads the second-level header when it is relevant to the user’s query.

Use images and videos
This will help make the content more exciting for the user, improving your retention rate.

Using videos especially is encouraged, as they will be directly viewed on your website. You can embed any video from YouTube or any other video hosting sites, and we advise you make sure that the title of the video corresponds to the keyword that the page is promoted by.

If you choose to use images, make sure that they are clickable and that they can be enlarged. The image name and the <alt> parameter must also contain a keyword.

Keywords at the beginning of the page
Another method for SEO optimization involves keywords at the very beginning of the page, as they will have more weight than the same words located at the end or in the middle of the text. That being said, placing keywords at the beginning should be done with care. You need to skilfully embed them in the text so that they look natural — listing keywords from the very beginning can be seen as spam by the search engines, which will exclude it from the search.

Focus on the content, rather than the frequency of keywords, so that the reader can evaluate the usefulness of the page at a glance.

Page loading speed improvements
Both search engines and users pay attention to page loading speed, as it becomes more and more relevant in the mobile age.

When your site takes forever to load, users are likely to close the page before it’s finished loading.

Therefore, you should:

  • reduce the weight of images;
  • optimize CSS and HTML;
  • not overuse scripts and flash animation.

You can test the loading speed of your website using the Google PageSpeed service. We even have an article on that very topic! [ADD URL].

Unique text
Another important factor affecting the SEO optimization of the page is the uniqueness of the text and its volume. The text must be at least 1,500character-long, and 100% unique.

As a general rule, if you want to optimize an existing website, you first need to see how much text your competitors are employing. If your competitors have a text size of 3,000 characters, just expand the question more deeply into 4,000 characters, while using all the recommendations mentioned above: title, description, h1, h2-h6, keywords, images.

Page optimization for mobile devices
If you don’t want to lose users who visit the site from their smartphone or tablet, you need to optimize the website for mobile devices.

  • Make sure the website is mobile-ready or has an adaptive version;
  • Test if your website is displayed correctly on all devices.

You can use the MobileFriendly service to check your loading speed

Page optimization testing
The first way to test your page optimization is to do everything manually. Open the page and evaluate them for all the points that we have listed above.

The second method is by using services. Here are a few services for checking pages for SEO:
