Andy Warhol’s TV show. You heard that right.

Yesterday would have been Andy Warhol’s 89th Birthday. To honor this day, we remind you of his less famous endeavors.

We all know that Any Warhol was the king of pop art and had a remarkable hair style. Today we wanted to focus on some lesser known facts about the amusing man.

  1. His parents, Ondrej and Julia were immigrants from Northeastern Slovakia.
  2. His very first movie was called ‘Sleep’ and it was 6 hour long never ending masterpiece of his friend sleeping. Nine people attended premiere. Seven of them stayed and watched the movie. Two of them left within the first hour.
  1. In high school, the art club excluded Warhol because he was better than the other members.
  2. In addition to creating art, Warhol started Interview magazine, opened a night club and created two cable TV shows-Andy Warhol’s TV and Andy Warhol’s Fifteen Minutes – for MTV. Now that’s something worth spending time on! Watch the first episode here
