.ART At Ars Electronica: What’s On?

This year’s theme ”Error – The Art of Imperfection” seeks to explore the mistakes, fallacies, deviation and innovation that are directly attributable to error.

The Ars Electronica Center in Linz, Austria.

”At what point does an error become a mistake, a fail, and what makes it the celebrated source of unprecedented ideas and inventions? When is an error an oversight and when is it intentional deception, a fake?

An error is a discrepancy from what we expect, a deviation from the norm… but what is the norm and who establishes it? An error doesn’t have to be a mistake; it can be an opportunity!” states festivals press-release.

We are thrilled to share .ART’s contributions to the festival with you.

‘Identification and Self-identification online. Technology and the true self’

.ART has co-curated a panel discussion that will center around the correlation and contrast between self-representation in the online space and in reality. In the context of technological breakthroughs, the way that innovation changes how we see and want to be seen online will be unpacked.

The incredible creatives who will explore the questions about self-perception online and offline are award-winning film director, writer and producer Martha Fiennes, interdisciplinary artist Egor Kraft, whose works are to be presented by .ART at Ars Electronica, journalist, art critic and curator Anika Meier, and .ART’s Director of Communications Masha Sergeeva. The panel will be moderated by the Director for Strategic Marketing at Yandex, Andrey Sebrant.

Since 2015, Ulvi Kasimov has worked to make sure that the .ART domain acts as both a professional statement and an invitation to a community of like-minded individuals.
