The State Historical Museum of Moscow is the largest treasury of documentary and material sources on the history of Russia, including works of art.
An agreement of intent was signed to celebrate a long-term cooperation with the State Historical Museum in Moscow. Long-term goals include creating a global certification system and ensuring the authenticity of digital artworks from museum collections, as well as creating a system for controlling copyright and searching for opportunities to monetize museum content.
As the first joint action of the cooperation, the State Historical Museum will take on a leading museum host role in the lenin.art project initiated by .art Domains, dedicated to the anniversary of Vladimir Lenin. The creation of an interactive exhibition and website about Lenin’s role in art will be based on artefacts and materials from the Lenin Museum, which forms part of the State Historical Museum. Many other museums around the world that store works of art and documents that relate to the reflections Lenin’s image, as well as contemporary artists, private collectors and researchers – are planning to join the project.
A similar collaboration agreement has already been signed with The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. .art Domains have been cooperating with this major state museum for over two years, and are opened to other museum and cultural institution collaborations globally.
