First “Meet the .ARTists!” Webinar: A Vibrant Showcase of Global Artistic Talent

The recent “Meet the .ARTists!” webinar was a captivating showcase of diverse artistic talent, moderated by the insightful Dean Phelus, Senior Director of Special Projects and Editor in Chief of the Museum Magazine at the American Alliance of Museums. This event marked a significant moment for the .ART community, celebrating the unique voices of artists within the .ART domain.

Jeff Sass, CMO of .ART Registry, opened the event with a warm welcome, emphasizing the importance of art in today’s world and the role of .ART in supporting the Art Therapy Initiative. His introduction set the stage for an afternoon of rich artistic exploration.

Dean Phelus, a respected figure in the museum world, brought his expertise to the forefront, engaging the audience with his thoughts on the intersection of art and cultural institutions and sharing insights into the cover selection process for the Museum Magazine. He seamlessly transitioned into introducing the featured artists, each of whom brought a unique perspective to the virtual stage.

Ronen Tanchum (ronentanchum.art) shared his journey from Hollywood visual effects to creating digital art. He spoke passionately about his work, “I’ve always been fascinated by the beauty of nature’s imperfections and how they can be recreated digitally to bring art to life.”

Uslada (uslada.art), an artist and poet, captivated the audience with her discussion on tapping into the collective unconscious. “My art is a bridge between the visible and the invisible,” she explained, “bringing to light the deeper layers of human experience.”

Ozan Turkkan (ozanturkkan.art), a new media artist, delved into his passion for fractal geometry in nature. He described his artistic approach as “an exploration of nature’s intricate patterns, blending art with science to create something truly unique.”

Katerina Belkina (belkina.art), a pictorialist photographer and painter, shared her process of combining photography with digital painting. “My work blurs the line between reality and dreams, capturing the essence of human emotions,” she stated.

Simon Freund (compositioninredblueandyellow.art), a conceptual artist, highlighted his minimalist approach and his journey from fashion design to art. “Art is about conveying a message with the least possible,” he remarked, discussing his evolution as an artist and his focus on sustainability and cooperative living.

The webinar was not just a platform for showcasing art but also a forum for insightful discussions and meaningful interactions between the artists and the audience. The Q&A session allowed for deeper engagement, with attendees eager to learn more about the artists’ processes and inspirations.

Looking ahead, the .ART community is buzzing with excitement for the next webinar scheduled for January 23rd. Artists with a .ART domain are encouraged to apply for participation via media@art.art, offering them a unique opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience.
