Nadia McNeva: Crafting Art from Plasticine

Thought Plasticine Was Just for Kindergarten? Think Again…

Meet Nadia McNeva, a UK-based artist who’s taken plasticine—yes, the same modeling material you might remember from childhood—and turned it into a stunning medium for fine art. While many of us left plasticine behind with school projects, Nadia saw its potential to create vibrant, textured works of art that practically leap off the canvas. Whether it’s a playful portrait, a quirky custom piece, or a design for a high-end interior, Nadia’s plasticine paintings are anything but ordinary.

Nadia’s creative journey started early. “Plasticine has always been a big part of my life, from crafting tiny figurines as a child to using it for architectural models in university,” she says. But it wasn’t until the lockdowns that she decided to bring her art to the online world, launching her professional career and introducing her work to a global audience. This shift led her to explore new ways to connect with people, and that’s when she discovered the .ART domain.

“When I chose my domain, it just made sense to add ‘art’ to my brand, Crazy Plasticine. It became a reflection of what I do—crazy, imaginative, and totally unique plasticine art. .ART transformed my work into something that truly represents me,” Nadia shares. Her website, crazyplasticine.art, is the perfect digital gallery to showcase her bold, colorful pieces.

Each of Nadia’s artworks is crafted entirely from plasticine, bringing a new dimension to painting that people often don’t expect. “I make paintings out of plasticine, and people often don’t realize at first that the artwork isn’t painted with oils or watercolors. It’s made from a material everyone recognizes from childhood. That’s the fun part—it surprises people, and they’re amazed at how something so familiar can be used in such a unique way,” Nadia explains.

Her portfolio ranges from small figurines to large-scale, 3D-textured paintings that are perfect as one-of-a-kind gifts or statement pieces for interior design. Whether you want to commemorate a loved one, recreate a favorite character, or design a personalized logo for your business, Nadia can bring your vision to life. And if you’re short on ideas, don’t worry—she’s got her own quirky creations, including a character named “Mr. Quirky Fox,” who stars in his own series of mini paintings.

Plasticine isn’t just for kids anymore—it’s an art form that Nadia has been working with for over eight years. Her paintings have durability, too. “I keep some of my works in a conservatory, and even after years of extreme heat in the summer and cold in the winter, there’s no change in color or texture. Plasticine keeps its brightness and lasts through the years,” she adds.

So if you’re looking for a truly unique piece of art to brighten up your space or gift to someone special, head over to crazyplasticine.art and explore Nadia’s world of plasticine artistry!
