Mori Building Digital Art Museum: teamLab Borderless opened its doors on June 21 and has already acquired multiple positive reviews from both visitors and critics.
For example, the review of ‘The Telegraph’ has even raised the question of the possible death of the traditional art galleries in the world facing the new concept of the digital art museum. The full exposition features about 50 large-scale digital artworks. The interactive installations occupy a massive space of about 10,000 square meters.
The museum denies the concept of borders: there are no boundaries separating one colourful media artwork from another. Some installations extend beyond their rooms into the corridors, overlapping and even fusing with other works. Since there are no boundaries, the immersive works also shake the boundaries between people inside the space. Visitors physically enter and explore the works as well as experience interactions with others.
teamLab has been one of .ART’s early adopters and has a strong reputation of impressive innovators in the field of digital art. Their partners Mori Building are famous for numerous projects in the field of art, including the famous Mori Art Museum in the Roppongi Hills in Tokyo.
