Democratizing Art: TIME TO ART’s Digital Showcase in Times Square

Much has been done to achieve the democratization of art. Though it’s yet to be fully realized, the advent of blockchain, Web3, and the particularly provocative NFT, flung us into the future, signaling a global effort to not just digitize art—but to bring it to as many people as possible.

The effort to democratize art, to share its profound effects with as much as the world as possible, inspires us at .ART. Our domain’s Web3 compatibility, for one, speaks to our enduring commitment to the digital future, accessible art, and cutting edge technology. But there is another tech manifestation of “art democracy” that we’re especially excited about and they should not–nor can they be–overlooked: billboards.

.ART’s Official Artist, Medina Kasimova, is the inspiration behind the Art Therapy Initiative

On February 20th, 2025 at 3PM EST, .ART’s official artist and inspiration to our charitable initiative, Medina Kasimova, will display TIME TO ART on four mega billboards in Times Square. Taking part in Art Innovation’s Urban Pixels, Medina is joined by other renowned digital artists hailing from across the globe. Her whimsical work, TIME TO ART, is a series of dynamic, digital artworks, reflecting on the ever-changing pace of nature and the healing powers of art. Each piece began as an oil painting. Brought to life by technology, the four pieces, Spring, Winter, Autumn, Flowers, breathe with unmistakable serenity and mesmerizing beauty.

“Spring” by Medina Kasimova

Bringing tech, art, and nature to the bustling nexus of the concrete jungle, we’re so proud to see our official artist on a global stage, and we’re incredibly excited to be a part of such innovation. Beyond ambitious, Art Innovation’s project is notable for its unique approach in displaying art. Instead of curating within the confines of a gallery, their project is to illuminate the streets; when it comes to democratizing art, they’re literally bringing it to the people.

Celebrating this transformative display leaves us only with excitement and curiosity for what’s to come. Artful achievements like these remind us of the synergy between art and tech, and the boundless potential for accessibility and art democratization.
