Jury Members Announcement for the Digital Innovation in Art Award 2022

The Digital Innovation in Art award presented by .ART for Investor Allstars 2022 and often referred to as the Oscars of the tech world recognizes the innovators in the art industry that are using digital technology to push the traditional boundaries of the art market.

Over the years, Digital Innovation in Art Award welcomed prominent figures from art and technology to its judge committee. This 5th edition is not different and we are delighted to welcome the members of this year’s jury. With expertise in different aspects and fields of art and tech, they will have the hard task of selecting the shortlist as well as the winner amongst the candidate that submit their application. The winner will be announced during a special evening celebrating the 20th edition of the Oscars of the tech world, Investor Allstars 2022, on October 6th, in London. Jean-Baptiste Costa de Beauregard

Jean-Baptiste Costa de Beauregard is deputy CEO of Beaux Arts & Cie, managing the group’s publishing activities (Beaux Arts Magazine, Le Quotidien de l’Art, Beaux Arts Editions, …). He also founded the group’s annual European art market professionals gathering, The Art Market Day, in 2018. Furthermore, Jean-Baptiste is the Investment director of ArtNova, the investment fund owning Beaux Arts & Cie and active in the art & tech industry.

An HEC Paris alumni, Jean-Baptiste previously led the Fine art insurance team at Hiscox in Paris and developed Christie’s Collectrium in Europe, a collection management platform. 

Dean Phelus

Dean Phelus is editor in chief of Museum magazine and senior director of special projects at the American Alliance of Museums (AAM). In his nearly three decades at AAM he has had a diverse range of experiences through various positions to include: overseeing the AAM Annual Meeting and Museum Expo, the largest professional convening for museums in the world; guiding AAM professional development and training programs to ensure museum professionals and their institutions maximize their competencies to advance their service and relevancy to their public; and launching international initiatives and partnerships with museums, and other cultural institutions around the globe to foster a shared understanding of museum practices, operations and programs that advance their enduring social value. He currently serves as editor in chief of the Museum magazine, an award-winning bi-monthly AAM membership publication, that explores the timely issues that matter most to the museum field’s growth and flourishing. 

Adriano Picinati di Torcello 

Adriano is the Art & Finance coordinator for the Deloitte group of member firms. He is in charge of the Art & Finance activities within Deloitte Luxembourg, an initiative he has been coordinating since its inception in 2008. Adriano also coordinates the development of the Art & Finance activities at the Deloitte group level. Over the past decade, Adriano has been working towards the creation of an Art & Finance/Business cluster in Luxembourg.  

To create public awareness of the Art & Finance subject, Adriano initiated the international Deloitte Art & Finance Conference cycle that has become the annual benchmark event in the field. He has also developed Art & Finance seminars for professionals seeking guidance about the global art market and he is the co-author of the Deloitte and ArtTactic Art & Finance Report. As the spokesperson of the Art & Finance initiative within Deloitte, he regularly speaks at national and international conferences. 

Michael Royce 

Michael Royce is the Executive Director of the New York Foundation for the Arts a U.S. based national nonprofit serving artists, cultural workers and arts organizations. Since the pandemic began, Royce has overseen the fundraising and distribution of $21 million in Covid aid. Royce has launched many new services since taking over the organization, including a national immigrants artists program, tri-state incubators for executive arts leaders of color, statewide workshops for leaders supporting underserved communities, national grants to address climate change, local grants to artists with disabilities, and national grants to Latinx artists.   

Previously, Royce had been appointed by Governor Pataki as the Deputy Director of the New York State Council on the Arts, followed by an appointment as the President of Moynihan Station Development Corporation. Royce also served as an on-site evaluator for the National Endowment for the Arts for fifteen years. 

Recent Recognition includes being named a Power Player in Tourism and Hospitality by AMNY Metro (2022), a Notable in Nonprofits and Philanthropy by CRAIN’s New York Business (2021) one of the top 50 influential arts leaders by the Observer (2020), and awarded the inaugural Alan Cooper Leadership in the Arts Award by the Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation (2018). 

Rachel Sebban 

Rachel is the CEO at SAGA Invest, vice president of Paris chamber of commerce and a board member at a number of cultural organisations. She is the co-founder of Jérôme Dreyfuss brand, Rachel Sebban’s DNA runs on power and wonder. Symbol of a step forward businesswoman, she started her career as a chief legal officer and then made her mark in the luxury fashion industry. As a real-life talented wonder woman of the modern world, success grows where Rachel goes.  

Anton Vidokle 

Anton Vidokle is an artist and editor of e-flux journal. He was born in Moscow and lives in New York and Berlin. Vidokle’s work has been exhibited internationally at Documenta 13 and the 56th Venice Biennale. Vidokle’s films have been presented at Bergen Assembly, Shanghai Biennale, Berlinale International Film Festival, Forum Expanded, Gwangju Biennale, Center Pompidou, Tate Modern, Garage Museum, Istanbul Biennial, Haus der Kulturen der Welt, Tensta Konsthall, Blaffer Art Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Lincoln Center, MMCA Seoul, the Latvian Center for Contemporary Art, and others. 

Elena Zavelev

Elena Zavelev is the Founder and CEO of CADAF (Crypto and Digital Art Fair) & Digital Art Month. Elena works at the intersection of art and technology and advocates the adoption of new media and crypto art within the traditional art market. She is a contributing writer to Forbes and Observer Media.
