Uslada’s current exhibition at Galeria Solis, running until June 29, 2024, explores the concept of the “mundus imaginalis.” This term, coined by French philosopher Henry Corbin, refers to a realm that bridges the physical world with the spiritual, distinct from the purely imaginary. It is a space where reality is dynamically shaped through interactions with deep archetypal forces.

Born in Latvia and now residing in Belgium, Uslada (uslada.art) taps into this realm in her art. Her paintings are narratives filled with mystical symbols and archetypes, pushing beyond the material to uncover spiritual truths. “When I make my art, I dance with the Divine. I become a spiritual alchemist,” Uslada explains, describing her art as a transformative process.

The exhibition was launched with an opening event on April 18th at Galeria Solis in La Hulpe, Belgium. The philosopher and writer Marcel Paquet, known for his works on renowned artists like Magritte and Botero, praised Uslada’s ability to reveal the dynamic forces at play in her artworks.

For insights into Uslada’s creative methods and inspirations, you can look back on our “Meet the .ARTists” webinar series, where we featured a discussion about her work.

This exhibition is a fascinating opportunity to engage with a unique artistic interpretation of reality. Information about Galeria Solis can be found at galeriasolis.art. Be sure to experience this intriguing display before it concludes on June 29, 2024.
