Illustrator: An illustrator is an artist who specializes in creating visuals that are giving life to concepts that were previously expressed by ideas or words.   

Noran Fikri  

Cairo-based illustrator and animator, Noran is passionate about storytelling. Her creative outlet takes the form of animation, children’s books, editorial, illustration, and storyboards. She majored in Graphic Design during her studies in Applied Arts at the German University in Cairo.   

We fall for Noran because of her exquisite texture and aesthetic qualities!

Megan Irene  

Freelance graphic designer and illustrator Megan find her inspiration in her surroundings. She studied Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Pittsburg Online Division. Through her journey across the USA from California to Missouri and North Carolina, she allows her works to flow with the landscape she discovers.   

Megan attracts our eyes with her dark and defines outlines filled with flowy and smooth colours!

Celia Jacobson AKA The Creative Sirene   

It is in Florida’s Gulf Coast that Celia, a self-taught illustrator and designer armed with a BA in advertising, sustains her art. Inspired by the gaming world’s fantasy or the wonderful underworld life that she explores when scuba diving, her projects are anchored in providing creative assistance to a world that needs it often.   

Our heart got conquered by her friendly creatures and her mesmerizing scenes.

Sojung Kim-McCarthy  

Residing in Dorset Uk, this Korean-British picture book author-illustrator was destined to the creative industry when she was born into a family of artists, writers, actors, TV and musical directors.   

The childhood stories she was she was brought up to transform herself into a children’s art focus creative. She holds a BFA in VisComm at Hong-Ik University and a Master in Illustration at the Arts University Bournemouth.  

Sojung charmed us with the warmth of her illustrations, the sense of community in them and the way she works in black and white with a striking pop of colour!

Winnie Mai   

Currently, a student at the School of Visual art in New York, Winnie Mai specialized in Visual Development, Illustration, Modeling, Texturing, and Lighting. This comes through in her 2 & 3d work. It is our pleasure to feature her on this blog “Is the future of illustration FEMALE?” as she is the co-lead of Women in Animation at SVA and organized events in the industry to promote women’s advancement in the industry. Her hobbies include one that many of us can relate to: hoarding art books!
