Productivity isn’t everything, and sometimes, taking time off, far from our projects, is the best productivity hack. If you feel like you did rest plenty already, then try the following ones:
- Clean workspace – clear mind
Is your workspace disorganized and a total mess? How can you expect to focus on creating and getting clarity while the space you are trying to do so is in such a state that finding your tread of thoughts is like searching for a needle in a hack stack? Pause, clean and organized your creative kingdom – you will feel better, and maybe you will also stumble onto the restaurant napkin on which you scribble your latest genius idea!
- Read your horoscope, go for a walk, do your nails or read ten pages of a book – Self-care is vital!
Ok, this one might encounter a little bit more resistance, but more than often while horoscope shouldn’t be the answer to all our problems and no you shouldn’t make a rash decision today between 5 am and 7 pm as the moon is acting out, it might bring back to a state of reflection. Taking the time to go for a walk, do your nail, read a few pages of a book. Remember that self-care is also part of productivity and will assist you in coming back at full speed.
- Exchange with friends, family and strangers (safely!)
If this year taught us anything, standing in isolation isn’t the best way to get the most out of our ideas. From friends, family or even strangers on a blog or a book club, exchanging with others and finding your sounding board or someone to bounce ideas off might be precisely what you need to get out of the dark corner in which you might currently be. Even if you aren’t, it is never wrong to exchange and see what others have to say positively – it will only help you get your project better or this painting more resolve.
If you aren’t sure where to start and adore going back to the words of others, here are three books to help you getting clarity on your thought process. While they are so different from each other, they all have something we can learn from!

Keep on hydrating, and don’t be afraid of adding flavours
Trivia fact; about 75% of the brain is made up of water. So, dehydration can come quickly when you enjoy the sun outside; a shift as small as 2% can have adverse effects on your brain, so make sure to stay hydrated. From water with cucumber, lemon and strawberry, or mint, cucumber and raspberry, there are so many combinations that you will never get tired of drinking water.
